Greene Central Lady Rams Overcome West Carteret in Nail-Biter, 6-3
Snow Hill, NC – In an intense showdown that lasted four hours, the Greene Central Lady Rams secured a 6-3 win over 3A conference champion West Carteret on Tuesday evening.
Sporting a 12-2 record and a perfect 5-0 in conference play, the Lady Rams were put to the test in a match where every point mattered.
“All the tough matches over our season seem to have built up a sort of resilient layer to keep our players calm in the clutch,” said Coach Tim Medlin. “We could have easily lost 3-6 tonight.”

After settling for a 3-3 tie in singles, the Lady Rams exhibited their depth and resilience by sweeping the doubles.
Rylee Greene was named Match MVP, coming from 0-3 down in singles to win 7-5, 7-5 despite suffering from a blistered toe. “Rylee was also great in doubles, winning 8-2,” praised Medlin. “For her strong performance under duress, she’s our Match MVP.”
Up next for the #2 state-ranked Lady Rams is a home game against Washington tomorrow.
